New South Wales had also fought with Tasmania in their last game, where New South Wales won the match by six wickets. New South Wales won the toss and elected to bowl. Tasmania opened poorly with the early fall of wickets with very few runs. B Webster scored the highest (65) runs, followed by P Dooley (39). The team finished their innings with 198 runs. When New South Wales came to bat, J Edwards and D Hughes opened impressively, scoring 92 and 58 runs, respectively. The team scored a total of 202 runs and chased their target successfully.
