Sorath Lions will be fighting against Zalawad Royals in the 10th match of the Saurashtra Premier League 2023 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on August 30. Sorath Lions have played three games and haven’t won any of them, and are at the last spot on the group’s points table. Zalawad Royals have played two games in the tournament and have won one of them, and lie in the second-last position in the points table.
Sorath Lions last locked their horns with Halar Heroes, where Sorath Lions won the toss and elected to bat. With a fantastic start of 101 runs by T Gohel, supported by H Jadeja (30) and A Gosai (28), the Lions scored 186 runs for the loss of three wickets. When Heroes came to bat, R Ahir hit the highest (72) runs, followed by D Chauhan (54) and S Patel (29). They chased the target successfully with the loss of three wickets. S Tamil, J Chauhan, and P Gohel scalped one wicket each.
Zalawad Royals, on the other hand, fought with Gohilwad Gladiators in their last game, where the Royals won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting from Gladiators, P Mankad scored the highest runs (44), followed by N Vaghela (38) and S Rana (22). The team scored 155 runs for the loss of six wickets. A Jadeja, M Gorania, P Bhut, D Dand, and A Ranjan scalped one wicket each. When the Royals came to bat, A Kothariya scored the highest runs (39), which was followed by C Sisodiya (35) and K Parmar (34). Royals tried, but due to the constant fall of wickets, they fell short of eight runs and ended their inning on 147 runs at the loss of nine wickets, thereby losing the match by eight runs.
