Rhein-Ruhr Sports will lock horns with PSV Aachen in the 7th match of the ECS Germany, Krefeld 2023, at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground in Krefeldn on August 29. Both these teams are being introduced to this tournament for the first time, and this is going to be their first match.
Rhein-Ruhr Sports are a newly formed team, and this will be the inaugural tournament and a match for them. They have a good pool of talented players and would be looking forward to finding their proper team balance as soon as possible so that they can gain early momentum. This team needs to be kept an eye on in the tournament.
PSV Aachen had last squared off against FC NörtersHausen udenhausen e.V in the Westdeutscher Cricket Verband e.V. (WDCV) tournament. The toss was won by FC NörtersHausen udenhausen e.V, and they elected to bat. Choosing to bat, they made quite an aggressive start where both their openers had a strike rate of more than 100, but in the process, both of them lost their wickets soon. Imran Ali, who came to bat at three, also went back to the hut pretty soon, but it was Jawad Anwar who seemed to be in some different mood altogether. He dismantled the opposition bowlers as he brought up his century and took his team’s total to 215. In reply, PSV Aachen started well but soon lost three wickets on a trot. Their number four batter, too, looked good and played some brilliant shots but could not go up to score a century, which proved to be the difference between the two sides. PSV Aachen were bowled out for a total of 177 and lost the match by 38 runs.
