Qatar Women will be up against Malaysia Women in the 6th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on September 6. Qatar Women have yet to win any of the four matches they have played in the tournament. They are languishing at the bottom of the table. On the other hand, Malaysia Women have played four matches where they have won and lost two matches each. They are in the third place.
Qatar Women had played against Nepal Women in their last match, where Nepal won the toss and elected to field. Qatar did not start well, losing a wicket early and then scoring at a very slow pace. Three of their batters had returned to their hut on duck, leading the team to a petty total of 74 runs by the end of the innings. On the other hand, Nepal had no problems chasing down such a small total and did so while losing just one wicket. They required just ten overs to complete the chase.
Malaysia Women had squared off against Bhutan Women in their last match, where Malaysia won the toss and elected to field. Bhutan did not start the way they would have hoped for. They lost a wicket early and could never keep going with the flow of runs. Just one of their batter could score in double digits, and the team finished with 59 runs on board. Malaysia started decently and was not hurrying too much to chase the total down. They won the match by eight wickets with 26 balls to spare.
