
Perth Scorchers will face Sydney Thunder in the 36th game of the Women’s Big Bash League 2023 on Sunday (November 12) at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. This will be a battle of the table toppers. Thunder are currently in first place, with six wins in eight games. Scorchers are ranked two with six wins and three losses in nine games. Scorchers have dominated Thunder so far in WBBL, with 10 wins in 17 games. They have come out victorious in three out of their last five meetings.
Scorchers’ last game came against Melbourne Renegades. They chased down the target of 134 runs in 11.2 overs with 10 wickets in hand. Skipper Sophie Devine played a fine knock of 70 runs off just 36 deliveries.
Thunder faced Melbourne Stars in their last game, which was a low-scoring affair. They were bundled out for just 125 runs in 20 overs. Heather Knight was the only batter who scored more than 20 runs and finished with 45 runs off 35 deliveries. Stars could only make 121 runs in their 20 overs and lost the match by four runs. Hannah Darlington bowled her best bowling figure in WBBL and finished with five wickets for 10 runs in four overs. It was only the second time that a bowler took a five-wicket haul for Thunder in WBBL.
