
Perth Scorchers will face Melbourne Stars in the 50th game of the Women’s Big Bash League 2023 on Wednesday (November 22) at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Scorchers have won eight out of 12 games so far and are in second place in the points tally. The Stars have won four out of 12 matches, and they are in second-last position.
The Stars defeated the Brisbane Heat in their last game by 15 runs after posting a total of 156 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Maia Bouchier scored 41 runs off 29 deliveries for the Stars and was the highest scorer. Sophie Day took three wickets for 16 runs in four overs for the Stars and won the Player of the Match award.
Scorchers lost their previous game against Sydney Thunder by nine wickets after being on a four-match winning streak. Scorchers could make only 116 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Amy Jones scored 37 runs off 16 deliveries. Only two other batters managed to make a double-digit score for the Scorchers. Thunder chased down the target in just 16.1 overs.
