
The Isle of Man will lock horns with Greece in the 11th match of the European Cricket Championship at the Cartama Oval in Cartama on September 28. The Isle of Man has won both the games that they have played and finished at the second position in the rankings, while Greece lost both their matches and finished in the fourth place.
Isle of Man had played off against France in their last match, where Isle of Man won the toss and elected to bat. They did not start well, losing their first wicket in the first over itself, and soon the second wicket followed as well. But soon, they picked up the pace owing to some good shots played by their middle order and raked up 91 runs by the end of the innings. In reply, France completely decimated their bowlers as they needed just five overs to chase down the total, and they won the match by nine wickets emphatically.
Greece had played off against the Czech Republic in their last encounter, where the Czech Republic won the toss and elected to bat. They lost a wicket early but had a fabulous second-wicket partnership to bring them back into the game. Sabawoon Davizi played a sensational knock, due to which they were able to put up 114 runs on the board. Greece went all guns blazing right from the start as they smashed 41 runs for their opening stand in just three overs. They did not slow down and won the match easily by seven wickets.
