This quadrangular series features Hong Kong Women, Japan Women, Nepal Women, and Tanzania Women competing in a round-robin format. The head-to-head record between Hong Kong Women and Japan Women stands at 5-1 in favour of Hong Kong Women.
Hong Kong Women enter the series with momentum from their previous encounter against Mongolia Women in the Asian Games, where they secured a resounding victory by 180 runs. Hong Kong Women posted an imposing total of 202 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Kary Chan’s impressive all-round performance, scoring 70 runs and taking two wickets, along with To Yee Shan’s contribution of 34 runs and Mei Wai Siu’s two wickets, were pivotal in the triumph.
Japan Women, on the other hand, faced Vanuatu Women in the T20 World Cup Qualifier, where they fell short by 21 runs. Despite Ahilya Chandel’s notable performance with the ball, taking 1 wicket, Japan Women couldn’t chase down the target of 108 runs set by Vanuatu Women. Haruna Iwasaki and Kurumi Ota made valuable contributions with the bat, scoring 16 runs and 12 runs, respectively.
