Hyderabad CC will be fighting against Assam CC in the 2nd semi-final match of the Odisha T20 2023 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on September 21. Both teams won two out of three games in their respective groups. Hyderabad CC finished in the second position in the points table of Group A, while Assam CC are at the top of the table in Group B.
Hyderabad CC last fought with Odisha A, where Hyderabad CC won the toss and elected to bowl. K Biswal scored the highest runs (38), followed by R Dhupar (36) and P Samarage (22). The team scored 94 runs at the loss of seven wickets. R Readdi and R Teja scalped two wickets each, and K Kak and GA Reddy got one wicket each. When Hyderabad CC came to bat, T Agarwal and R Rayudu scored the joint-highest (31) runs, followed by A Reddy (28). Hyderabad CC scored 100 runs with the loss of two wickets, thereby winning the match by eight wickets.
Assam CC had their last match with Odisha B abandoned due to rain. Previous to this, they locked horns with Kerala CC and won the match by 15 runs due to the D/L method. Assam CC won the toss and elected to bowl. S Gopal scored the highest(13) runs, followed by V Chandran (12). They got all out on 94 runs. M Hussain picked four wickets, R Parag and R Singh got two wickets each, and S Dey and A Sengupta gathered one wicket each. When Assam CC came to bat, P Saikia scored the highest (18) runs, followed by R Das with 15 runs. They made 34 runs in five overs while having all the wickets in hand when the rain interrupted the match. Assam CC was later declared the winner by the D/L method.
