Hobart Hurricanes will face Melbourne Renegades in the 51st match of the Women’s Big Bash League 2023 on Thursday (November 23) at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Hurricanes have won five out of 12 games so far and are in sixth place. The Renegades have been victorious in only two out of 12 matches and are struggling in the last position on the points table.
In their first game of the season, the Hurricanes won the toss and elected to bowl. The Renegades could only make 101 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Only Hayley Mattews and Josephine Dooley managed to make a double-digit score.
Heather Graham picked up three wickets for 12 runs in four overs. Nicola Carey and Molly Strano took two wickets each, while Shabnam Ismail picked the remaining one wicket.
Skipper Elyse Villani played a knock of 46 runs off 46 deliveries and helped the Hurricanes reach the target of 102 runs in 17.4 overs. Graham won the Player of the Match award for her bowling performance.
