
Emirates Red will lock horns with Ajman in the 14th match of the Emirates D50 at the Malek Cricket Stadium 1 in Abu Dhabi on November 16. Emirates Red have been phenomenal with four wins from four games and are comfortably at the top of the table. Ajman, on the other hand, have won and lost two games each, being placed in fourth place.
Emirates Red last played against Dubai in their last encounter, where Dubai won the toss and elected to bowl. Emirates started decently but then started losing wickets and were reduced to four and looked in trouble. That is when their solid middle order came into effect, took matters into their hands and took the team to a good total of 258 runs. Dubai started well with their openers but lost their way with the middle order, which looked weak. Although the lower order did play well and put up a good show, they still fell short of the target by 47 runs.
Ajman squared off against Emirates Blues in their last game, where Emirates Blues won the toss and elected to bowl. Ajman lost a wicket early but had decent partnerships to follow. Aryan Lakra played a good knock of 68 runs and was supported well by Mohammad Ajmal and Yash Jai Kumar, with a late flourish from Muhammad Ismail, which took the team to 226 runs. Emirates started aggressively, with the opening partnership being worth 104 runs. Once the partnership broke, it opened the floodgates for them as they were bundled together for 218, losing the game by eight runs.
