The stage is set for an electrifying encounter as Barbados Royals Women (BR-W) take on Trinbago Knight Riders Women (TKR-W) in the second match of WCPL T20 2023 at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados. In terms of head-to-head encounters, TKR-W holds a dominant 2-0 record against BR-W.
BR-W, led by the dynamic Hayley Matthews, have shown their mettle in the opening match of the season. They secured a confident victory against GUY-W, chasing down a target of 166 runs in 19.4 overs, with a final score of 169/4. Standout performances in that match included Gaby Lewis, who scored 47 runs, and Laura Harris, contributing 30 runs.
On the other side, TKR-W, captained by the formidable Deandra Dottin, were the reigning champions of WCPL 2022. In the final clash of the previous season against BR-W, TKR-W emerged victorious, winning by a margin of 10 runs. They posted a total of 100 runs in their allotted 20 overs, with Deandra Dottin leading the charge with 59 runs. Anisa Mohammed was the star with the ball, taking three crucial wickets.
