Bihar will lock horns with Kerala in the 38th match of Group B of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on October 19. Bihar has not started well, having lost both their matches, and are positioned in seventh place. Kerala, on the other hand, have done well so far, winning both their games and are present at the second place.
Bihar had played off against Assam in their last encounter, where Bihar won the toss and elected to field. Assam started off on a good note as they amassed 59 runs for the opening stand. Riyan Parag, in the middle, led the attack from the front as he increased the scoring rate, and with some good finishing by the team, they reached a huge total of 200 runs. Bihar, in reply, lost a wicket early but had a sensational 137 runs stand for the second wicket. However, they fumbled towards the end and lost the match by just five runs.
Kerala had played off against Himachal Pradesh in their last encounter, where Himachal Pradesh won the toss and elected to field. Kerala had a decent start but lost two wickets in a rather short span of time. However, they had a good partnership for the third wicket owing to a good knock by Vishnu Vinod; they reached a decent total of 163. Himachal, in reply, never really came off to the chase as they kept losing wickets right from the start. A couple of batters got starts, but none of them could continue and were bowled out for 128 runs. Hence, they lost the match by 35 runs.
