Bermuda will lock horns with Grassroots Cricket AcademyI in the 6th match of the Bermuda Premier League at the White Hill Field in Hamilton on September 9. Bermuda have won and lost one game each and are second in the rankings. Grassroots Cricket Academy, on the other hand, have a similar record and are placed in third position due to a lower net run rate.
Bermuda had last squared off against Bermuda Select XI, where Bermuda won the toss and elected to bowl. Select XI did not start in the way they would have expected them to do so. They kept losing wickets and were not able to form substantial partnerships. However, they were not bowled out and batted throughout the innings, after which they were able to post a target of 88. In reply, although Bermuda lost a wicket early, they did not lose track as they chased down the total easily by nine wickets with more than half the inning left.
Grassroots Cricket Academy had played against Barbados in their last encounter, where Barbados won the toss and elected to bat. Barbados went all guns blazing right from the start, as they had already scored 91 runs by the time they reached ten overs. However, they kind of lost track and started losing wickets, which brought their run rate down as well. They were bundled together for a total of 146 runs. Grassroots Academy could not make most of the comeback they made with the ball as they failed to get a good start with the bat. Losing wickets, they were bowled out for 98 runs and lost the match by 48 runs.
