Amo Region will lock horns with Speen Ghar Region in the 13th match of the Afghanistan Domestic One Day Cup at the Amanullah Khan International Cricket Stadium in Ghazi on November 11. Amo Region have done an excellent job so far with three wins from four matches and are in second place, while Speen Ghar Region has won just two of their five games and is in third place.
Amo Region had squared off against Band-e-Amir Region in their last encounter, where Amo Region won the toss and elected to bowl. Band-e-Amir Region had a decent start after being put to bat but lost a couple of wickets in quick succession. Karim Janat used his experience to play a crucial knock of 91 runs to calm the storm and took his team to a total of 229 runs. Amo Region, in return, started horribly, losing two wickets for just four runs and looked in trouble, but a match-winning partnership of 205 runs for the third wicket set the tone for them. They easily won the game by four wickets.
Speen Ghar Region had played against Boost Region in their last game, where Boost Region won the toss and elected to bowl. Speen Ghar Region made a decent start with an opening partnership of 31 runs, but the fall of the first wicket instigated a dominos effect as they lost five wickets in a rather short span. An inspiring partnership for the sixth wicket saved them as they were able to score 189 runs. Boost Region lost an early wicket but had good partnerships for wickets to follow. Several of the players contributed, and they were easily able to win the match by six wickets.
